Our Mission
The Murfreesboro Chess Club provides a safe, friendly and welcoming environment for players of all backgrounds to gather for the game we love. It is free for all who wish to participate with dignity and integrity. Please attend with the intentions of participation by playing, learning, instructing or officiating. We also ask that parents stay with their young chess prodigies during our meetings and events.
Please see the Scholastics Page for information concerning free lessons provided for kids and beginners from 6pm to 7pm (1st 3 Thursday's each month).
Aside from weekly meetings, the M.C.C. is dedicated to hosting tournaments, and other Chess related events.
Our Heritage
The beloved Rutherford County Chess Club existed for over 20 years, and was host to many wonderful tournaments. After the original club dissolved, the Murfreesboro Chess Club was created. The M.C.C. is an affiliate member in good standing, and has officially been recognized by the US Chess Federation since 2013.
